Outreach

Outreach ministries at Blue Rock Church are practical ways that we show Jesus’ love to people without Jesus in their life.  Each summer we reach out to the community of children through our Vacation Bible School.  Here, the children are taught who Jesus is and are invited to accept Jesus as their Savior through singing, Bible stories and crafts.  We have helped our local elementary school with money they can use as they see fit to meet the needs of children.  Also, we’ve helped serve or provided a meal to our local homeless shelter.   Our youth have served the less fortunate in a variety of ways through their youth group.  Blue Rock has also raised funds for angel tree ministries which helps families of prisoners over Christmas.  And, we are regular contributors to the Gideons Ministry that provides Bibles locally and globally.  Two of our members are Gideons serving in our community.

We are involved in reaching out to the world through work trips to Honduras.  We have partnered with our denomination to do a number of building projects in the area of La Ceiba.  In addition, we participate in Operation Christmas Child whereby we pack shoebox size Christmas gifts that are sent out with a Christian message by Samaritan’s Purse.  This ministry is run by Franklin Graham, the son of Billy Graham.  And, we support missionaries that reach out to the lost as well through our denomination and other missions organizations.  One of our members serves with Wycliffe, a world-wide missions organization.
